Earth day was this last Wednesday, with that on my mind, I found this prompt to be very fitting. Camping is something I used to do all the time growing up with my aunt and uncle, and I never stopped enjoying it. As i’ve gotten older, and have visited cool places, more than ever I have an intense drive to camp as much as possible, especially going into my twenties. It’s an activity i’ve found to be incredibly refreshing, and obviously down to earth. Camping is one of those things that I feel most people either love or hate, and there seems to be no in between, for me, it’s all love; even if that means sleeping with bugs. Everywhere i’ve camped has just been in Iowa, which is where i’ve lived all my life, and honestly i’m okay with that. West Lake, Scott County Park, etc. are all local parks/campgrounds that are simple and close, yet still so serene. In my near future, I hope to camp in much bigger more significant parks, to really open up and see more of mother nature. Travel has been and always will be a top priority of mine, and I plan to max out on hikes, sleeping in tents, and building fires until i’m an old lady. The Earth is so precious, and unfortunately many people don’t see that…between all the issues in politics, global warming, and every form of climate change, I think now more than ever it’s important to take extra care of our home. I’ll never quite understand why people don’t take advantage of the beauty of this planet to the fullest potential, but that’s just me. Overall, i’ll forever be a happy camper, and will always highly encourage the adventure that the camping experience has to offer. đī¸
